Video Poker is a beloved game that usually will be bet on in casinos across the world, or alternatively at your house on your personal computer, using an Internet connection. The game rules are very simple and involve the player attempting to get the greatest assemblage of cards possible in order to come away with money. In this respect it is much the same as a classic game of poker, without the involvement with competing players. The game of Video Poker begins when the bettor puts credits (either tokens, credit slips or cash) into the video poker machine and pushes the draw button. A five card hand will then be "given out" on the screen.
The Video Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and gamblers should now decide which cards to keep and which to discard. For the cards the enthusiast wishes to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any amount of cards they wish, from all to none.
After the enthusiast has decided on which cards he or she would like to keep, the player will then press ‘draw’, at which point any fresh cards are needed they will be handed out. The hand is now completed, with the Electronic Poker machine analyzing the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands shown on the payment schedule.
Typically, the minimum succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money growing for each and every better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It should be known that the payment schedule can change from game to game, so that experienced enthusiasts are agile enough to select the most beneficial machine each time.
Once the initial round has completed, the player can either choose to continue on and try to to increase their earnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any money that they may have won. Further, some versions of the game give the bettor an opportunity to increase their profits, in which instance a further round is played. There are also differences among individual games, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other varying characteristics to increase playability.
