The game is now finished, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands listed in the pay out schedule.
Typically, the minimum winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money increasing for each and every better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It goes without saying that the payout schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that skillful players are able to pick the most money-making ones each time.
As soon as the first round has completed, the player can either decide to stay on and try to to increase their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any credits that might been won. Additionally, several styles of the game give the gambler a chance to double their winnings, in which situation a further game is played.
