Video Poker is a favored game that is able to be gambled on in casinos throughout the world, or in your house on your personal computer, using a web account. The rules are very simple and involve the player attempting to get the best combination of cards possible in order to win money. In this respect it’s much the same as a regular game of poker, apart from the line of contact with other players. The game of Electronic Poker starts when the gambler inserts credits (either tokens, tickets or money) into the machine and presses the play button. A 5 card hand will be "dealt" on the video screen.
The Video Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and bettors should now choose which cards to keep and which to discard. For the cards the enthusiast wishes to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they light up. The player can choose to keep any amount of cards they wish, whether it’s all or none.
After the gambler has decided on which cards she would like to retain, they should press ‘draw’, at which point any fresh cards are needed they will be dealt. The hand is now finished, with the Electronic Poker machine analyzing the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands printed on the pay out schedule.
Typically, the minimum winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money growing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It should be known that the payout schedule can range from machine to machine, so that knowledgeable gamblers are able to select the most money-making game each instance.
After the first round has played out, the player can either decide to remain on in an attempt to maximize their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any money that they may have won. Additionally, several versions of the game allow the gambler an opportunity to double their wins, in which situation a further hand is played. There are also variations among specific games, with some decks of cards including wild cards and other varying characteristics to enhance playability.
