Electronic Poker is a popular game that usually will be played in casinos throughout the globe, or in your house on your home computer, through a web account. The rules are very simple and consist of the player trying to get the highest combination of cards as you can in order to win money. On this account it is much the same as a regular game of poker, minus the interaction with any other players. Of course, methods used in a physical game of poker, like tricking, will be useless in Video Poker.

The game of Video Poker starts when the gambler inserts credits (either tokens, credit slips or cash) into the machine and pushes the play button. A 5 card hand will be electronically ‘handed out’ on the video screen.

The Electronic Poker game also has hold buttons, and bettors will need to now pick which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the enthusiast would like to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they wish, from all to none.

After the enthusiast has decided on which cards he would like to keep, they should press ‘draw’, at which point any new cards will be needed they will be dealt. The hand is now finished, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands shown on the pay out schedule.

Normally, the minimum succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money getting larger for each and every better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It goes without saying that the payment schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that experienced bettors are able to select the most beneficial machine each instance.

After the first round has completed, the player can either choose to continue on in an attempt to maximize their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any money that they may have won. Further, some versions of the game allow the enthusiast a chance to increase their winnings, in which instance another hand is played. There are also variations between individual machines, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other differing aspects to increase playability.
